Dr Christine Kidd BVSc makes up one part of the Dynamic Duo that established, built up and successfully runs the Manly Road Veterinary Hospital. Christine has over 40 year’s experience as a Veterinary Surgeon. With a passion for assisting dog owners with reproduction Christine is a well known for her ability to assist breeders with infertility and reproductive concerns.
Running a very busy and successful 24 hour a day Veterinary Hospital is not an easy path but as far as Christine believes it is an extremely worthwhile one. For over 40 years she has kept her vision and ensures Manly Road provides the very best Medical and Emotional care for her Clients and Team members.

Pauline Gaven gained her Veterinary Science degree from the University of Queensland (UQ) and a diploma in Medical Diagnostic Radiography from RMIT. She has memberships of the European Society Veterinary Ophthalmologists, International Society Veterinary Ophthalmologists, International Equine Ophthalmology Consortium, and is Chair, Animal Welfare Committee Manly Road Veterinary Hospital. Pauline is Adjunct Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Ophthalmology at the University of Queensland for both Bachelor of Veterinary Science and B. of Applied Science (Veterinary Technology extended major) Students. She also provides Honorary Equine Ophthalmology Consultations and Surgeries for UQ. Pauline has presented at numerous conferences, seminars and workshops for both Australian and International Veterinarians.
Pauline is Principal Veterinarian, owner and partner of Manly Road Veterinary Hospital and accepts equine and small animal eye cases, including equine and small animal cataract surgery. She also has vast experience in equine medicine and surgery.

Our General Manager, Sal Trujillo, has over 25 years' experience in leadership roles, as well as an extensive education base, which has facilitated his successful career progression at MRVH.
Born in Central America {and fluent in Spanish}, Sal migrated to Brisbane at a young age and embraced every opportunity to build a strong educational and professional foundation. After completing his high school education, he went on to achieve an impressive suite of qualifications, including a Diploma in Business Management, a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Leadership. Sal has also earned multiple Certificate IV qualifications, including Training and Assessor, Frontline Management and Workplace Health and Safety.
With a deep passion for helping people and enhancing workplace operations, Sal has built a career focused on aligning people and business strategies with organisational goals. Sal’s strategic mindset and dedication to fostering a positive workplace culture make him a highly valued member of the senior leadership team. He works closely with Dr Christine Kidd, Dr Pauline Gaven (Practice Principal), and the broader leadership team to guide, inspire, and support MRVH in reaching its full potential.
Outside of work, Sal is a proud father to three vibrant teenagers and two beloved Cavoodles (Benji and Walter) —who, as he often jokes, may just be the favourite children.

Dr Tamara's experience and skills are invaluable for providing high-quality care for our patients. Her years of hands-on practice, deep medical knowledge and sound clinical judgement allow her to quickly assess complex cases, make confident decisions, and mentor younger veterinarians.
Dr Tamara can speak fluent Swedish and when time allows she loves to travel.

Our Jenni has a long history with our veterinary hospital and currently she is working as part of our admin team. Jenni spends her busy days at MRVH assisting with insurance claims and processing a mountain of new client forms. Jenni also lends her beautiful and artistic creations to her role that an incredible number of clients and friends have benefited from over the years. Originally from Nairobi in Kenya, Jenni attended the University of NSW and graduated with a science degree in Zoology in 1984. Jenni was previously a member of our Veterinary Nursing team back in 1989 and returned to us later in life and has been a part of our admin team now for many years. Our Senior Equine Nurse, Colleen is one of our longest-serving MRVH Equine team members. Colleen received her Associate Diploma in Stock & Meat Inspection in 1998 and her Certificate 3 in Equine Nursing in 2011.
With a passion for everything equine and a special interest in equine ophthalmology, surgery and radiology, equine nurse Colleen has been (and continues to be) the reliable constant of our Equine MRVH Unit. Working closely with Dr Pauline Gaven and all the equine veterinarians past and present that care so meticulously for our precious horse patients, Colleen is an invaluable member of our Equine team.
